Ted's School project

Video Work By Ted Stoffers

I turned in my Type In Motion project. I think I may need the release form for my records, but the instructor didn't give me any hassle about not having one.

So I got up in front of my classmates and showed them the video I made (most of them are 20-somethings). When it got to "Crackpot & Buzzkill In The Morning" I did get some nervous laughter from a few students, I guess they were a little confused about what to think. I guess we hit 'em in the mouth. Hopefully some people will check it out to find out (one reason) why I always have these

On the Right Side of History [Voltaire Network]

Unfortunately, qualified and honest analysis of developments in Syria and their potential consequences is still in short supply. Quite often it is replaced by primitive images and black-and-white propaganda clichés. For several months major international media outlets have been reproducing reports about the corrupt dictatorial regime ruthlessly suppressing the aspiration of its own people to freedom and democracy.

It seems, however, that the authors of those reports did not bother asking themselves how the government could manage to stay in power without public support for more than a year, despite the extensive sanctions imposed by its main economic partners. Why did the majority of people vote for the draft constitution proposed by the authorities? Why, after all, have most Syrian soldiers remained loyal to their commanders? If fear is the only explanation, then why did it fail to help other authoritarian rulers?

@brianoflondon yes, as it did me. It seems @adamcurry is inclined towards accepting holocaust denial as legitimate

@brianoflondon yes. They really pushed my buttons with a suggestion that Elie Wiesel is a fraud

Email from Jonathan Rose

The part that pisses me off is that you bring up that Elie Wiesel is controversial, but don't get into it. You basically tell people to go and do a google search on Elie Wiesel, which will point them towards "http://www.eliewieseltattoo.com/" - the only site in the 1st 10 pages of google search on Elie Wiesel that even SUGGESTS there is any controversy to his legitimacy. http://www.eliewieseltattoo.com/ is sponsored by CODOH - the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust. In other words its single "agenda" is Holocaust Denial.

If I do a google search on "Elie Wiesel fraud" I get a collection of anti-Semitic, holocaust denying websites such as http://www.realjewnews.com/ & http://northerntruthseeker.blogspot.co.il/

All I can deduce from this is that you aren't as careful to check when you are being fed lies of Holocaust denial, as you would be if you were reading a press release from Monsanto. And that is a red line for me as a descendent of camp survivors.

I don't take issue with you suggesting that Elie Wiesel is using his status as a holocaust survivor for political purposes. If you wouldn't have brought up the "controversy of his legitimacy", I wouldn't have reacted at all.

You say I have a bias, which is quite obviously true. But I think you are being extremely disingenuous when you suggest that you don't have one. I find the show very entertaining and thought provoking, its also obviously controversial to the extreme (by definition). You seem to have strong principles - well, so do I. I don't think I'm a biased slave for having those principles and calling you out.

Singularity University 2012 -- The Graduate Studies Program is Near and We Have Insider Coverage | Singularity Hub

Monday June 18th marks the start of Singularity University's 10 week Summer Graduate Studies Program. Based in NASA AMES in the heart of Silicon Valley, SU has become the premier institution in educating the next generation of leaders about the disruptive power of accelerating technologies. Singularity University understands that the small advances in science today could compound into enormous changes in the near future. Individuals, businesses, and even nations will rise or fall depending on how they prepare for and harness those changes. SU wants its participants to use exponential growth in technology to help a billion people in the next ten years. For the next ten weeks Singularity Hub will be on campus, ready to provide you with an unparalleled look at the university that is poised to transform the world.

The transition that many participants make from proven leaders to targeted entrepreneurs reflects the underlying mission of Singularity University. Founders Ray Kurzweil and Peter Diamandis wanted to create an institution that not only taught the world about accelerating technologies, but found and shaped the talent that would use those technologies to improve the lives of everyone on the planet. SU helps their participants aim for a 10^9+ impact- helping a billion or more people in the next ten years. This organization wants nothing less than to solve some of humanitys grand challenges such as poverty, energy, education, global health, security, and the exploration of space.

Many of you already know about the potential power of artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, nanotechnology, and other emergent technologies. Singularity Hub covers them everyday. But we hope that this summer well be able to show you how Singularity University is actually taking what we discuss as possibilities, and planning to use them as tools to build humanity a better future.

Stay tuned, Hubbers, on top of all our regular (and awesome) content cake, were going to give you a lot of Singularity University icing. Bon appetit!

Lieberman Live Free or Die Hard

Adam,

Listening to your last show, I heard you discuss Sen. Lieberman's comments about 'Cyber 911'. You were quizzing John about what he thought were the 3 critical pieces of infrastructure were. My first thoughts were the same as Lieberman's... because we must have seen the same movie... "Live Free Or Die Hard" (a Bruce Willis film).

The main plot is a computer attack called a 'Fire Sale'. Part one consists of attacking transportation. Part two attacks the financial systems. Part three attacks all utilities and telecommunications.

Sounds like the tail is wagging the dog!

Bath Salts

Jarrad

Hi Adam,

I'm a 21 year old from Australia, and I have had the drug which is sold as bath salts..

I'm no druggo, but on the odd occasion I have had ecstasy, Speed, and weed, mdma when out with mates.

About 2 years ago a friend was selling what he called 'bubble' which he told me was made of products used in bath salts and garden fertilizer. Which made it actually an uncontrolled substance until recently in Australia, police could take the powder but never actually charge for possession of a controlled substance.

The active substance i believe is Mephedrone,

I have had this substance twice, the effects are somewhere between MDMA and speed, but nothing really trippy or crazy..

I haven't heard of it being sold around me anywhere for a good year or so..

Cheers

Jarrad.

Probabtion

I have personally tried bath salts 2 times. The first time was like taking speed not to bad or out of the ordinary. The second time was a horrible semi-psychedelic experience with an allergic reaction. I have found that the majority of the people taking these things are people on probation. Also I live in Provo Utah and if a drug is not illegal or if it's prescribed then it is more accepted. They all seem to be poorly made designer drugs. I have been listening to the show for about a year and thank you. I hope to be able to donate soon, but right now I'm not even just barely getting by. I can't even afford a car, I have to bike everywhere. I do propagate the formula;a and have gotten several people to listen including my new wife. congrats on your new soon to be wife.

17 year old ADHD Kid

I was the 17 year old high school student who tweeted you about the first hand account about the ADHD meds..

- First off I would like to ask that you not use my real name, if you choose to share this;

- My school is a very competitive area. People are always trying to "have better grades than the asian kids" to "get into a good college". I'm going into 12th grade. I started taking an ADHD/ADD/shutupslave med called "intuniv" in 10th grade. My doctor called it "untreated ADHD", which is total bullshit. I had no problem focusing in class, I just choose to put in the amount of effort I put in. I got several B's in 9th grade, the rest were barely A's. I struggled to make the grades that I had then. I was going in early for "help", and I even had tutoring, paid for by my parents.

- Then came 10th grade. I put in the same amount of effort that I did in 9th grade. But, i struggled minimally. I made straight A's the entire year, and got honors credit for Science, Social studies, and Language Arts. With the meds, I would often sleep in class. Pretend to be sick to get out of class. Fail to do homework, and fail to study. But none of it mattered, as long as I had a basic understanding of the material, I was able to excel on anything thrown at us. I asked questions for the shit I didn't understand (the same thing I did when I was a freshman), but it came to me easilly and I was able to bring my GPA up several points.

- And then 11th grade. Same effort as before, probably even less. I was lazy, bored, and gitmobrainwashed from the start of the year to the end of the year. I studied the same amount (minimally), asked the same amount of questions, and turned in the same amount of work. But this time, my grades were exceptionally higher. I was no longer "barely making A".

My grades:

(screenshot attached)

- I'm not very smart either. The pill helps me in school, so I look smart and am able to enjoy life during high school instead of slaving over gitmobooks and gitmohomework. But, it has gotten to the point where somebody offered me money to work on a class assigned "partner test", I didn't take it because the kid offered was a dick. I sit in class, I pay attention, I sometimes take notes (but not usually, I just take pictures of the notes in case I need it later), and then I might look over them before the test, but usually that is unnecessary. And, people said 11th grade was the hardest, but it wasn't...

I also took the SAT recently, total fucking scam. I haven't got the score back, but I will let you know what approx i got.

- Also, as with many others, the teacher only checked some of the homework for completion, so that DID help. But it doesn't make much of a difference because people copy the homework when they do that.

- That isn't the big deal. Without insurance, this drug can cost around $5 per day, and it is a blood level so it must be taken every day. It is a scam, you need to take it on weekends and summer to maintain the blood level, because not taking it "can be dangerous". My dad thinks the pill is a bullshit scam. My mom thinks the dramatic increase was because of me "growing the fuck up".. (which I refute as bullshit because I'm the same immature asshole as I was in 9th grade, I'm just 3 years older. Not many people I know take intuniv, most of them take ridoline or adheral.

- My friend who was in 11th grade with me had decent grades. B's and A's.... But the adheral helped him in some classes. And allowed him to slack in other classes (He still got a B so he didn't give a rats ass).

- Every year I go to the doctor for the checkup, tell them the improvements, and am told that I still need it. They aren't surprised that the pill is helping. They still insist its used to treat ADHD, not to help kids become more competitive.

- I plan on taking it until I finish college.

My theory is the doctors are told to give the drugs to kids to

- Help the education system of a certain county, state, or country

- Extract money from the parents

- Brainwash

- Brainwash

- Brainwash

TL:DR - they give you a pill, your grades get better (and you more competitive) while you remain a regular slave.

I recently donated to No Agenda because I felt like a boner. Please don't share the attached sceenshot with other slaves, I want to remain somewhat private (which is why I didn't pull the full transcript). The only people who see it are me, you, and the agent who intercepts this email.
